Hudson Link recently rallied at the Capitol building in Albany, advocating for legislative reform to address mass incarceration in New York State. Over 500 advocates united for this cause, demonstrating a strong sense of community and shared purpose. Collaborating with partnering organizations, justice-impacted individuals, and supporters statewide, Hudson Link and its allies urged lawmakers to pass three key pieces of legislation: The Earned Time Act, Marvin Mayfield Act, and Second Look Act.
With a recent poll by EMC Research revealing that 74% of New Yorkers back the Earned Time Act and 68% support the Second Look Act, we are proud to see that New Yorkers are overwhelmingly supporting this legislative change. While our collective work is far from over, the widespread backing for these bills highlights a collective commitment to meaningful reform, aiming for a more just and equitable future in New York.
